KOCHI: District Collector M. Beena has called for maximising the earnings of the district from revenue recovery. Talking at Pirates Of The Carribean 2 meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall to review the revenue recovery, Dr. Beena said that though the district was able to collect Rs. 1,004.40 lakh more than the previous fiscal, this could be further enhanced considering the special status of the district. This should be the aim and concerted efforts should be made to achieve it, she said. Dr. Beena directed collection of abkari dues without any delay, while calling for a monthly review of revenue recovery. The Aluva tahsildar collected Rs. 241.19 lakh, an increase of Rs. 68.46 lakh than the previous fiscal. Paravur collected Rs. 115.57 lakh, Kunnathunadu Rs. 196.21 lakh, Kothamangalam Rs. 106.61 lakh and Muvattupuzha taluk collected Rs. 138.34 lakh. Kanayannur taluk was in the forefront in revenue recovery during 2007-08 with 2,155.81 lakh.
